“Dialyse is er voor de patiënt en niet andersom”

Mijn streven is dat een dialyse-schema zo veel mogelijk aan het leven van een patiënt wordt aangepast en niet dat iemand zijn leven nog verder moet veranderen omdat zijn behandeling dat vraagt. Daarom pleit ik voor thuisbehandeling wanneer dat mogelijk is en flexibele aansluittijden zodat iemand zijn dagelijkse bezigheden zo goed mogelijk kan blijven volgen. Dat kan werk zijn, maar ook een biljartmiddag met vrienden of het passen op de (klein)kinderen. Op die manier maak je dialyse zo dragelijk mogelijk.
